About the Founder

I help companies and their legal advisors as a corporate compliance and fraud expert. Not to perpetrate but to help clients investigate, litigate, and remediate. When I started my professional journey, I had no idea that my path would lead to such a vocation. Rather, from the very beginning I encountered first hand, that compliance and fraud issues—if left unmitigated—can destroy otherwise fantastic businesses and commercial opportunities.

 

My professional journey began with the foreign investment boom into China. I had a seat at the table developing, negotiating, and operating deals across the country. I helped build large-scale joint ventures and engaged in major commercial technology transfer deals. That time was the heyday of China’s booming economy and it was exciting to be in the middle of it. However, right off the bat, I also became a troubleshooter, as every deal we had encountered some element of fraud to be addressed, disputes to be resolved, and turnarounds to be driven. Red flags rose, and I rose to meet—and overcome—them.

 

In these changing and uncertain times, anyone and any company—no matter how great—can find themselves the victim of potential fraud. This may come from in the form of an M&A deal or commercial transaction gone bad due to material misrepresentations on the part of (formerly) trusted business partners. This may come from the actions of bad actors—both external and even internal—who bring down corporate compliance and enforcement risk upon the company. Fraud and compliance risks increasingly pose not just material risks but even existential ones. The stakes are even higher these days driven by a fundamental reordering of international trade, increasing geopolitical tensions, and heightened national & economic security concerns. I can help.

 

I bring hands-on experience from the front lines of business, that allow me to provide insights to identify the signal from all the noise, that result in efficient, effective, and economical solutions to achieve successful outcomes for clients facing the most difficult challenges.​
